A woman begs for alms in a street in Barcelona, Spain, Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012. Spain’s National Statistics Institute says Tuesday that the country’s economy contracted 0.3 percent in the third quarter from the previous three month period. Spain is in a double-dip recession and has a 25 percent unemployment rate.
for a brief moment i thought i might spend the rest of my savings on a plane ticket to spain. walk the el camino de santiago and miraculously find work there. it would be, too. i don’t know any spanish. |ha!| fortunately reality doesn’t take long to set in. 25% unemployment rate? i’m better off using my savings to buy a light rail pass and take refuge there from the winter weather until spring. might make for an interesting photo diary, eh?
